The Brief …

Redesign an existing WordPress website to help encourage donations and integrate with a new social media strategy.

The Solution …

Woodford Foundation, based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire already had a WordPress website that was doing very little for them. What they needed was something that made their message very clear but also integrated seamlessly with their Social Media strategy.

The design was created by Anil Amrit, a freelance graphic and web designer based in Bridgnorth, with one important goal; to make donating to the cause easy.

The new website features:

  • Featured stories from the news or blog section on the home page to highlight specific causes or success stories.
  • The ability to add separate images for page headings.
  • Easy links to donate, subscribe for email news and read the latest news updates.
  • Integration with existing social media channels and auto updates to the Posterous blog when a new blog post is published.
  • Direct feed from Flickr gallery to display images in sidebar.

From the first detailed consultation about how we wanted the site to look to the moment when the new site went live, the process was made so easy for us. The technical language and explanations were kept to a minimum and explanations on how things worked and what to do were made in plain English. We were constantly kept informed about how the project was going, everything ran to the agreed schedule and we were able to work together to make visual adjustments right up to when the site went live.
