The Brief …

To design and build a website to promote the first web event in Shropshire.

The Solution …

Being one of the organisers of Shropgeek, this was a personal project for me. All of the speakers were discussing techniques and technologies that have changed how we use the internet today, so the theme for the event was ‘Revolution’.

With this in mind, I wanted the design of the website to have connotations of the  industrial revolution but also have an identity that was specific to Shropshire.

The website was built using WordPress to allow easy content management.

Features include:

• Cufon font replacement on headings to re inforce the theme of ‘Revolution’ without being reliant on system standard fonts.
• Book Now buttons on each page which could be easily hidden once all available tickets were sold.
• Dropdown menus to show a secondary level of navigation.
• Image Gallery to display photos of the event.
