effective lead generation brochure site for www.waterworthmarketing.co.uk

Waterworth Marketing is a Cambridge based Marketing Consultants that specializes helping in new startup businesses reach their full potential.

Waterworth Marketing, Marketing Consultants based Cambridge

Built using a combination of w3c valid XHTML/CSS and advanced search engine optimisation. This is a brochure website designed to generate leads.

Starting a new business can be an intimidating prospect and the existing branding for the company had been designed to deliberately combat that. The website had to reflect.this also. The main navigation includes many of the important keywords relevant to the industry the company is targeting but displays them in a friendly laid back manner.

using Flash effectively...

Each page has a strong focus area that very neatly and succinctly tells the viewer what the page is about. Many web developers only use a core set of fonts when building websites. This is to ensure that the website displays exactly as intended no matter what system or browser is being used when viewing.

There are a number of ways to get around this however, and to be able to incorporate the very stylised fonts used within the branding and have nice animated fade in and out effects I chose to use Flash. This gave me complete control over both.

Flash can have a negative effect on search engine optimisation if not used correctly because none of the content within the file can be spidered by Google (this is one of the reasons why it is no longer considered good practice to use Flash for an entire site) therefore I was careful to embed the files to w3c standards and also embed all of the keyword rich content as pure HTML specifically so that it is not hidden from search engines.

providing relevant additional content...

The home page also has an RSS feed embedded. This serves two purposes. One is to provide additional useful information to startup businesses, the other is so that the content of the site is updated regularly. One of the biggest problems with brochure websites is that they are not updated. By embedding an RSS feed from an external site not only is it improving the SEO for the site that created the feed by providing back links for every item displayed, but, it also tells search engines that the site is updated regularly and therefore should be given a higher priority in listings than sites that are not.

shout about existing clients...

What makes Waterworth Marketing stand out from the crowd is the calibre of clients they have already attracted. Therefore not only are these clients mentioned on the homepage but the testimonials area is very important. The design of the site only gave a limited amount of space to display testimonials, but by using a jQuery plugin to create a nice slider effect there can be as many testimonials as desired.

Appearing on the first page of Google for Marketing Consultants Cambridge is extremely competitive however, by combining good coding practices and advanced SEO techniques this website consistently appears within the top 3.
